Queen 'asks Meghan Markle mother Doria to Christmas at Sandringham'

Queen invites Meghan's mum to spend Christmas with the royal family

Queen 'asks Meghan Markle mother Doria to Christmas at Sandringham'

A source tells ET that Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, is expected to spend some of the holiday with her pregnant daughter and her son-in-law.

After Meghan married Prince Harry there was a backlash from her family although Doria did attend the wedding without any fuss.

The source is reported to have said that the Queen's invitation showed respect and acknowledged that Meghan would be spending Christmas away from family in Britain.

Since marrying Prince Harry in May, Meghan Markle's life has drastically changed now that she is the Duchess of Sussex - including her say in all things political.

According to The Express, the unprecedented invitation has never been extended to other royal in-laws - but for a practical reason.

Kate Middleton's family has joined the royals at church on Christmas morning previously but have stayed at nearby Anmer Hall rather than Sandringham itself. Meghan Markle rocked an electric blue ensemble from her wedding dress designer Givenchy - but what most style spotters failed to notice was that the fabulous pleated skirt that she combined with the matching sweater was see-through! "They speak on the phone pretty much every day and they are talking about Doria getting a place in the U.K.so that she can spend part of the year over here". The 37-year-old mum-to-be also posted a lengthy article in 2016 about voting, which was uploaded on her now closed-down blog, The Tig.

Kate Middleton's mother Carol Middleton reportedly felt snubbed.
