"We removed a series of accounts for engaging in attempts to share disinformation in an automated fashion - a violation of our policies", a Twitter spokesman said Friday. Twitter did not name the exact number of suspended accounts but several reports suggested that it might amount to over 10,000.

According to DNC Chief Technology Officer Raffi Krikorian, the partnership with RoBhat has helped lead to the discovery of many malicious social media accounts that are then reported to the companies.
