To cement her status as the rare pop star with a damn-near flawless public approval rating, Grande has slowly been rolling out an expert marketing campaign for her "thank u, next" music video that, at least according to her constant social-media posts, appears to be recreating every classic rom com a woman of Grande's generation would revere.
So far we know that the video will pay homage to some of the most iconic noughties films including Legally Blonde, Bring It On, Suddenly 30 and Mean Girls.
The video may also include a reference to "The First Wives Club" since she paid tribute to the 1996 comedy on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".
"Ariana says, 'Honest to God, knock me out.' So, I chose to punch myself in the face", Demartino's character says in the video, which is a take on a famous line from Mean Girls.
"Ain't nobody Lindsay Lohan like the real Lindsay Lohan", she wrote, before turning her subtle shade into admiration.
"One time on Twitter, I heard Ariana was pregnant". A trailer for a music video (which are usually only three minutes long). "So I got pregnant so we can be pregnant at the same time".
The cameos in the trailer are UNREAL, with Troye Sivan making an appearance alongside Elizabeth Giles, actual real-life-he's-still-hot Jonathan Bennet (Aaron Samuels), and a very pregnant Colleen Ballinger. And the part which fans are obsessing over is when Troye says: "I heard she's a lesbian now and dating some chick named Aubrey". The singer even has her own Burn Book, which reads "Thank U, Next" on the cover.
The comparison is ideal as, much like Regina George, Ariana Grande basically runs the world.
