Kris Jenner made an appearance as Mrs. George (Amy Poehler), donning a baby pink tracksuit and frantically videotaping her daughter as she dances along to the too-risqué-for-high-school performance.
While pretending to play Regina George in Mean Girls, laying on her bed with the "burn book", Ariana can be seen flipping through pages of her exes. We got a hint that the song would conjure up pop culture nostalgia when she performed it alongside co-producers Victoria Monét and Tayla Parx (who also were in the new video) to a First Wives Club theme on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on November 7.
"I mean, he was really cute, you know?"
We also have romantic interest Jonathan Bennett (aka Aaron Samuels) in the Mean Girls sequence.
Released on Friday, the music video - which features scenes reenacted from the films "Mean Girls", "Legally Blonde", "13 Going on 30", and "Bring It On" - received 1 million views on YouTube in its first 35 minutes of being released.
Numerous films' stars - including Jennifer Coolidge and Jonathan Bennett - made appearances, as did Grande's own celebrity friends.
Keeping with the early millennium vibe, Grande then jumps to Bring It On, where, along with her Victorious co-star Matt Bennett, she recreates the teeth brushing scene from the cheerleading classic. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star gets the honor of closing out the star-studded video saying the words: "Thank you next bitch!"
"Thank U, Next" is her first song to hit the top of the chart.
Warning: There is strong language in the music video below. In the song, she sings "Even nearly got married / To Pete I'm so thankful". He was, of course, referring to all the messages Grande writes to her famous ex-boyfriends in her version of the iconic "Burn Book".
