Felipe Anderson urges West Ham United to build on Newcastle United win

They have quality players, but in those circumstances you can't give them the kind of space we did. I'm not sure it's possible to win so easily and be lucky to do so but City took their chances well and West Ham didn't.

"The best games we played here were against Chelsea and Manchester United".

After the game, Benitez acknowledged the threat that Hernandez, Anderson, Marko Arnautovic and Robert Snodgrass posed on the break.

"Marko has worked the whole week without any problem", said West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini.

West Ham's Javier Hernandez has scored 48 Premier League goals with all of those strikes coming from inside of the box - only Tim Cahill (56) has scored more goals in the competition with 100% of them coming from inside of the box. Here are a few reasons why Newcastle should steal nine points from these three matches.

Ayoze Perez had Newcastle's best chance of the first half in the 26th minute when he headed over from close range. The brilliant Anderson has now scored in three of the last four Premier League games and he's increasingly looking like a fabulous signing. "But some of the players need to start doing the dirty jobs more efficiently and effectively - be mentally tougher - otherwise, we will find ourselves slipping back towards the relegation zone".

Anderson, 25, joined the club from Lazio in the summer for a reported fee of £36million. So when he's at his best, he is a real player, very risky going forward.

With Cardiff up next and Crystal Palace on the weekend, Felipe Anderson has an opportunity to continue to put up goals and assists against teams with worse defensive records than the Hammers.

"I hope we are conscious tomorrow about that".

"Every top team needs two or three key players to make things happen, and he can be one of those for us". But after Hernandez made it 2-0, Newcastle's heads dropped and the wind was really taken out of their sails.

"Momentum is always important and Newcastle have trust in this moment because they are winning", said Pellegrini.

He showed off his terrific chemistry with striker Marko Arnautovic in this match, as well, springing him in on goal on two separate occasions with flawless long balls.

"And, of course, when everyone does that, and collectively you're good, invariably you get the right result".
