The Cut later issued an apology, tweeting "An earlier story about Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas did not meet our standards". And my reaction was basically that kid who desperately asked, "Is this real life?".
Nick and his brothers Kevin and Joe formed a pop-rock band, The Jonas Brothers, in 2005 and soared to fame as members of Disney's stable of teenage stars.
And now the superstar has announced that she is "Mrs Jonas" for forever and ever in an adorable post. Minutes after the pictures from her wedding ceremony were shared on the internet, she too took to her social media handles to share it with the most romantic caption ever! "Nick should gallop as fast as he can, far away from PC on the same horse he came to marry her", and it has been changed to a generalized statement on celebrity marriages and their chances of survival. Priyanka introduced her husband, brother-in-law and his fiance. It was followed by an equally grand wedding as per Hindu traditions on December 2.
On Twitter, where Sonam led the charge, Mariah Smith was tagged to comments such as: "The sexism, racism and xenophobia really jumped out". Priyanka is 11 years Nick's senior.
A similar editorial disaster recently happened when Into published an op-ed by Eli Erlick accusing Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" music video of perpetuating trans misogyny and featuring the singer in blackface.
Since the backlash, The Cut has removed the article from its site and apologized. Her editors are equally responsible for this piece of trash seeing the light of day.
