Nevertheless, Nissan has chose to give the 2019 Nissan Maxima a mild refresh, and it made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

All 2019 Murano crossover SUVs include automatic emergency braking, while higher-trim versions build on that with blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, and lane-departure warnings. The mid-size SUV features a more pronounced V-motion grille, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, new LED fog lights and new 18-inch and 20-inch alloy wheels. "As a pioneer of the CUV trend, it offered forward-looking design sensibility that combined an elegant style with premium features - without a luxury price tag", said Dan Mohnke, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, Nissan Division U.S., Nissan North America, Inc. This Safety Shield 360 package is now standard on the Platinum trim and as an option on the SL trim in the Technology Package.

The range topping Platinum trim gets new leather seats with diamond-quilted inserts, micro-piping trim on the seats, armrest and center console lid, and dark wood trim.

Inside, Nissan has outfitted the 2019 Maxima with a new seat insert pattern and charcoal headliner and pillars for SR and Platinum Reserve Package grades.

Colour-wise, the Murano palette is joined by three new additions - Sunset Drift Chromaflair, Mocha Almond Pearl and Deep Blue Pearl for its exterior. Nissan is making the technology available on the 2019 Altima, Murano (which also debuted in L.A.), Rogue and Rogue Sport, part of its commitment to making the technology standard on 1 million new vehicles by 2021.

Rear Door Alert and Intelligent Driver Alertness notifications are standard on all trim levels for 2019, while Nissan has also added support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the Murano's existing eight-inch touchscreen display. So, in the "base" of the crossover now has a knee airbag for the front passenger side "airbag" on the second row of seats. All grades other than the Maxima S also receive a revised SiriusXM Satellite Radio with Advanced Auto Features and revised Nissan Door to Door Navigation.

The sole powertrain choice for the Murano continues to be a 3.5-litre petrol V6 outputting 194kW at 6000rpm and 325NM at 4400rpm, driving either the front or all four wheels via a continuously-variable transmission (CVT).

There are two optional packages to add, the SR Premium Package and the Platinum Reserve Package.
