Building on the design of the regular 6T, the McLaren Edition features the F1's teams signature Papaya Orange colour scheme along its bottom edge.

The only real specs difference between the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and the standard OnePlus 6T is that the McLaren Edition comes with 10GB of RAM, while the standard OnePlus 6T tops out at 8GB. The company says that it has used the new Integrated Circuits in both the charger and the phone.

In an email interview with Cnet, Lau confirms that the 5G phone will launch before May 2019, and reiterates that will be at least $200 to $300 costlier than the OnePlus 6T due to expensive 5G components used in the device. Might be worth rebooting it daily just for that. It's a brand new version of the 6T that was released back in October, complete with all the associated features, but a few things have changed. It'll become available to order this Thursday. In addition to the mobile phone, buyers will also receive commemorative Speedmark logos. In Europe, it is priced at 699 Euro, in the United Kingdom at £649 and in the $699. At a "Salute to Speed" launch event held today, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is being officially unveiled. This fast-charging system means you can charge the battery to 50 percent (which OnePlus believes is enough for a day's usage) in just 20 minutes. The glass back sports a carbon fiber texture underneath that is similar to what you see on supercars.

The Warp Charge 30 charger is bundled with the phone, and being a part of McLaren Edition, it has a Papaya Orange cable.

Lastly, now that you have everything unboxed, turn on the OnePlus 6T and use the McLaren AR application to watch the images in the book come to life. The optics on the smartphone also remains the same, featuring dual rear cameras (16MP+20MP) sensors along with 16MP front camera.

Does the McLaren Edition from OnePlus justify its price?

The McLaren Edition differs from the standard edition by offering 10GB of RAM, joining the likes of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, Nubia Red Magic 2 and the Black Shark Helo.

The smartphone gets 6.41-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch on the top of the display with resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. By our count, there are only three other phones with this much RAM on the market, but those are pretty niche devices that are mostly available in China right now.
