We're learning today that the new episode, titled Silver Lining, will be out in time for Christmas.
Insomniac Games has staple-gunned a December 21 release date on Spider-Man's third slice of DLC, Silver Lining.
Having already played a prominent role in Marvel's Spider-Man by implementing extreme security measures throughout the city, Silver Sable in now back in NY and is blaming Spider-Man for everything that has happened in her absence.
As the title suggests, the story will heavily involve Silver Sable which is something the team explained in more detail during the announcement. She's returned, Insomniac says, to "reclaim her stolen Sable International tech" from Hammerhead.
The DLC will feature new missions, upgraded enemy and crime types, and revamped Hammerhead bases and storyline quests. Screwball challenges also return in the game and we will get more Just The Facts with J. Jonah. Those who pre-order the movie through the PlayStation Store beginning tomorrow will get a copy of Silver Lining for free, along with a new dynamic theme and avatars for their PSN profile.
The trailer below gives a glimpse of what to expect from the story in the DLC. The two other new DLC suits are deeper cuts: you have Cyborg Spider-Man, who got his robot parts after almost dying in a battle with the Sinister Six back in 1992; and the Aaron Aikman Armor Suit, a robo-armored Spidey from a 2014 issue of the Spider-Verse alternate universe comics series. So you can go watch the movie then come home, boot up your PS4, and roleplay your own schlubby Peter Parker adventures.
"It was a real pleasure working in partnership with Sony Pictures and Marvel to bring this suit to the game - and we can't wait to see what you do in photo mode with it!"
