The Outer Worlds - Announcement Trailer

In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable. The ship flew in the Al, the most distant colony of Earth at the edge of the galaxy, but lost on the way.

Jokes are famously made better when they're explained to you, but on this occasion I think I'll just let you read Avellone's tweet for yourself.

But, if combat isn't your forte, players can still use dialogue trees to talk their way out of situations in The Outer Worlds.

While the release date is not exact yet, it will be coming out in 2019. In addition, we have a release window!

Announced at The Game Awards 2018, The Outer Worlds looks like a reentry into familiar territory for the developer, drawing upon the many experiences that helped it become the highly-respected studio that it is today. Spoiler: it's full of lolz.

It's a vibrant twist on the often dour worlds of Fallout, in a fun an expansive new setting - though this is essentially what we expected from Starfield. Our main source of information is the announcement trailer, seen above, and a brief Steam listing.

In true Obsidian style, the game is player-driven.

This is the newest single-player RPG from Obsidian set in a brand new universe.

You'll meet various characters throughout your travels across the various settlements, space stations and other unsafe environments Halcyon has to offer, and some will be interested in joining your crew. Armed with unique abilities, these companions all have their own missions, motivations, and ideals. Have a look at the trailer below to get a taste of what you can expect from The Outer Worlds.
