Buccaneers hiring Bruce Arians as next head coach

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will bring in Arians to be their next head coach, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

NFL super insider Jay Glazer of FOX Sports been talking to Bruce Arians, so he said today on Colin Cowherd's national radio show.

After four mostly very bad seasons in New York, Jets fans are glad to see former head coach Todd Bowles go. He previously worked with Bucs GM Jason Licht on the Cardinals, and has familiarity with Tampa QB Jameis Winston, an attendee of Arians' youth football camp.

The 66-year-old has had several health issues over the years, including a bout with prostate and kidney cancer. Former Cardinals coaches Todd Bowles, Harold Goodwin and Byron Leftwich will join Arians in Tampa Bay.

Arians replaces Dirk Koetter, who was dismissed December 30 after leading the Bucs to 19 wins and no playoffs berths over the past three seasons.

He has a reputation for developing quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck. In Wilks' place, the Cardinals hired former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury on Tuesday.

Other known candidates include Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards and Cowboys defensive coach Kris Richard.
