Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, is willing to pay up to £50million for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, if he is unable to bring Gonzalo Higuain to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, SunSport quoting Marca reports that the former Real Madrid forward has agreed terms with west London club, adding that his move could be finalised today.

A World Cup runner-up in 2014, he is also a prolific victor of trophies having claimed three Liga titles with Real Madrid and two Serie A victories at Juventus amid a plethora of cup successes at Madrid, Napoli and Juve.

The Argentine frontman bagged a stunning 36 Serie A goals from 35 appearances under Sarri's tutelage in the 2015/16 campaign.

However, the interest in Vardy is rather curious given that he will turn 32 in just a few days and Chelsea are reluctant to sign players over the age of 30 - something that has created a stumbling block in any deal for Higuain.

"He's not having a good time at AC Milan, he's only scored eight times, but Sarri wants to get him back".

Higuain has been one of the most prolific strikers in European football over the past decade as he's netted 290 goals in 576 career appearances during spells at the likes of Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus and most recently AC Milan. earlier reported that Chelsea are close to sealing a swap deal for AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan as Alvaro Morata heads to the San Siro.

Despite his recent struggles, Higuain's combined league record at Juve and Milan stands at 46 goals in 88 games - better than one in two.

He said: "A goal can change things, but if he is to continue here, he needs to take on responsibility". Seeing as he is here, he needs to knuckle down and actually do something for this team.
