Apparently, users are complaining that upgrading from Windows 10 April 2018 Update to the Windows 10 October 2018 Update is breaking FLAC support in Windows 10. This same issue is suspected to also be the root cause resulting in some Insiders finding Start would reset back to default in the previous build.

Windows 10 users, you are finally free from Cortana.

And when Microsoft re-released the entire update, Windows users thought that they were done with all the irksome bugs.

In the new Windows 10 build, these passwordless accounts can be used for logging into a machine locally. With today's update, Insiders can try it out on all Windows 10 editions.

For you, it means that the Administrator account will deactivate if it has been previously activated.

The announcement is one of a number of tweaks and new features built into Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18309, which Microsoft released January 3.

Microsoft wanted to have one billion devices running Windows 10 in a few years after its release, but later saw that it overestimated itself a bit.

"If you have a Microsoft account with your phone number, you can use an SMS code to sign in, and set up your account on Windows 10", Microsoft's Dona Sarkar and Brandon LeBlanc explained. We don't know the exact number of devices running Windows 10, but we do know that it's more than 700 million. Windows could very well be Microsoft's first product to do away with the need of passwords.

You can create one password-less account through Microsoft apps such as Word on your smartphone. If you think you hit this bug, you can type "winver" in the search box on your taskbar to double-check your build number. This task can now be done by going to Narrator Settings and clicking "Add more voices". The initial sign-in will use SMS, and it will then prompt you to configure biometric or PIN authentication.

There's also a long list of "general changes, improvements, and fixes".

I mean, sure, these numbers could flip again, but with new Windows PCs/laptops being nearly exclusively sold with 10 pre-installed, software sellers generally pushing 10 over 7, and Microsoft due to finally end official support for 7 in 2020, it doesn't look good for The Resistance.
