While the exact specifications are not known, the Polestar 2's power output is reported to be around 395 BHP. Toyota reveals its first fully-self driving vehicle.
It's also hinted that the Polestar 2 will serve as the debut platform for Google Android HMI, which features Google's new in-car version of its Assistant program.
Expected to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the 2 is thought to be a mid-size four-door saloon, taking aim at the likes of the Tesla Model 3.
According to a statement, "The auto will go into production shortly after the long-range hybrid Polestar 1, which will enter production later this year".
The vehicle with be priced from about $45,000, putting it in the same price range as Tesla's Model 3, which starts around $45,000 after Tesla cut the price by $2,000 this week. The automaker went on to say the auto will be available through a subscription or traditional "cash sales". The Swedish auto maker is expected to officially unveil the Polestar 2 at the Geneva Motor Show in March with the global launch to follow towards the end of 2019.
