The Raw segment began with a 10-bell salute for Okerlund, followed by Hogan's entrance.
While Hogan said he resigned from the entertainment company following the revelations, WWE stated he was sacked. He'll appear Monday (January 7) as part of a tribute to Gene Okerlund, who died last week. This fall hastened Okerlund's already failing health.
'The best partner I ever had, ' Hogan said.
'Gene would ask me "hey big man what do u want to do?"
As for Hogan, this is the first time the WWE Hall of Famer has appeared in front of a live crowd since The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia this past November.
The WWE quickly moved to distance themselves from their longtime star after the sex tape was leaked, and removed him the Hall of Fame and limited their references to him.
Hogan and Okerlund's friendship spanned the decades, from WWE to WCW and back to WWE.
Hogan was backstage at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in July, where he gave a speech to the talent about being "not knowing he was being recorded".
The 65-year-old Hogan, who was sacked from his veterans contract as a WWE ambassador in 2015 for racist remarks caught on a leaked sex tape, will make an appearance on Monday when Raw emanates from Orlando, Florida.
Certain fans are excited to see the return of a legend of the industry, but many feel that a modern, diverse WWE has no place for someone who has expressed the controversial opinions that Hogan has. Let us know in the comments section below.
