Missing teen whose parents were shot is found alive, suspect in custody

BREAKING NEWS: Jayme Closs Found Alive in Douglas Co.

According to the sheriff's office, they were notified by the Douglas County WI Sheriff's Department that they had located Jayme Closs alive.

Relatives of Closs spoke to FOX 9 Thursday night to describe what finding her means to the family. "We do believe Jayme was home at the time the call was made". From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!'

He wrote that he had no additional details to report, but has scheduled a news conference for 10 a.m. Friday in Barron.

Sheriff Fitzgerald said in November that he kept similar cases in the back of his mind as he worked to find Jayme, including the abduction of Elizabeth Smart, who was taken from her Salt Lake City home in 2002, when she was 14 years old.

Jayme Closs, 13, was missing after her parents were found dead in their home in Barron, Wisconsin, on October 15, 2018.

Officers from the Franklin Police Department, the Walworth County Sheriff's Department, the Milwaukee Police Department, Town of East Troy Police Department and members of the Wisconsin Department of Justice are on the scene. The FBI and Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting in the investigation.

This case has been very trying on the family so please respect their privacy and we reunite them later tonight.

"I have a gut feeling she's (Jayme's) still alive".

'We thought it was going to be a different ending and we're so happy. hopefully she's OK, we don't know what condition. However, Barron County officials cleared him of any involvement in the teen's disappearance. County buildings dedicated Christmas trees to Jayme, decorating them in her favorite colors and the word "Hope".

A $50,000 reward had been offered for any information leading to the discovery of Jayme. "We heard voices but we can't make out what was said", Fitzgerald told Fox News in November. She is sleeping in one of your sweatshirts.

"We want to thank the Douglas Co". Gordon is about an hour north of Barron in northwestern Wisconsin, not far from the Minnesota border.

Sheriff Fitzgerald was planning a news conference next week to mark 90 days since her abduction.
