- Sheriff's officials say five members of an East Texas family, including a 15-month-old child, have been found dead at the family's home.

Police and rescue workers responded to a call at 10:30 a.m. CST about multiple victims of an assault at a residence in Blanchard, Texas, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook.

The victims include the elderly couple who owned the home, Linda Delaney 72, and Carlos Delaney, 74.

A woman, identified as the mother of Ashley, was found locked in the back bedroom.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene they found that several people had been shot.

The woman woke up to a commotion outside the room and called her son.

The sheriff's office said it plans to brief reporters at 6 p.m. local time at a pavilion about a mile from the scene.

Investigators have not labeled the incident a murder-suicide, however, they say they are not looking for any suspects.
