More details are emerging surrounding the events that led to 21 Savage's arrest. The 26-year-old is also engaged, and he's the father of three children who were born in the U.S. Since living in Atlanta, Fortune reported that Savage has also given back to his community by helping underprivileged youths in financial literacy.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, attorneys for the rapper, whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, confirmed he was born in the United Kingdom and also that he came to the USA when he was just 7 years old.

According to three police reports, 21 was in a red Dodge Challenger and drove across the sidewalk in an attempt to get onto another street. Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody as he is unlawfully present in the USA and also a convicted felon.

Bebe Rexha has defended Demi Lovato, after she was forced to quit Twitter when she received backlash for a joke she made about 21 Savage. However, a source at ATF claims ICE was there, but is not listed on the report.

United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reportedly detained rapper 21 Savage on Sunday, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Law firm Kuck Baxter Immigration released a statement earlier this week saying U.S. officials have known about Abraham-Joseph's immigration status since at least 2017 when he sought a new visa, and while that application is pending the rapper should not be subject to detainment. Since then, Jay Z, along with Roc Nation, has reportedly hired a lawyer for Savage to help with his case.

And now, days later, the rapper is addressing his deportation through his legal team.

"Mr. Abraham-Joseph has no criminal convictions or charges under state or federal law and is free to seek relief from removal in immigration court", they said in the statement.

TMZ quoted Jay-Z saying: "In addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately".
