The V50 ThinQ will be available exclusively from Sprint in the United States, and it will later be available at Verizon.
Elsewhere the V50 provides plenty of grunt with the new Snapdragon 855 processor and 6GB of RAM. T-Mo hasn't said if it'll carry the LG V50 ThinQ that was announced today alongside the G8, but I've asked T-Mobile about the device and will update you when I hear back.
The LG G8 ThinQ will be available "in the coming weeks" in the US, but exact pricing and availability details will be announced by carriers and retailers. It was already expected to land on Sprint first since LG and the operator have been working closely on this handset. However, the brand hasn't yet revealed pricing and availability details of either smartphones at the moment. There are pogo pins on the backside of the V50 ThinQ for attaching the phone. Flawless aesthetics are not limited to the front of the device as its zero-protrusion rear camera creates a satisfyingly smooth surface.
Speaking of audio, LG has also included a Boombox Speaker feature with the G8 ThinQ that's capable of stereo output. LG has also added a real-time video portrait mode to the device as well. Besides a front camera, the notch contains a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor, which enables a bit of 3D sensing. You can then use your palm to unlocked the G8 ThinQ by placing your palm in front of the front-facing camera.
Yeah, the standout feature of the LG G8 ThinQ is termed as Hand ID.
LG also quietly announced the LG G8s ThinQ during the Barcelona show. There's no earpiece on the G8 ThinQ. The display is a 6.1-inch OLED panel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution at 3120 x 1440 pixels and 564ppi. The Android Pie-powered offering also comes with IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and has MIL-STD 810G certification for military-grade durability. What's more, the subtle, understated design philosophy that discards all nonessential design elements gives the LG G8 ThinQ an undeniably stylish appearance. The other two sensors of the device are the 12MP f/1.5 primary shooter and a 12MP telephoto f/2.4 camera. A large 4,000mAh battery can also be found on the inside. The display is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass on top.
The display has an impressive pixel per inch measurement of 538, making it one of the most lovely screens around. When playing a game, the additional display can be used as a game screen, while the smartphone itself can be used as a game controller. The feature allows users to watch two different screens installed on a single handset.
