It all started Sunday night, after Cardi B won best rap album for "Invasion of Privacy", becoming the first female rapper as a solo artist to win the category. However, the individual running the verified Twitter account used that opportunity to throw shade at Cardi's rival.
The 61st edition of the Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 10, 2019, with many global music stars gracing the highly coveted award show.
"BET loves Nicki Minaj", the statement reads.
But it was too late.
Since Nicki seems to be the only one repping Young Money these days, her threat may not hold much weight on the way this year's awards weekend will play out.
"I'm with u!" he replied.
In an apology for the now-deleted tweet, BET said they love Nicki Minaj and have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward. Summer Tour dates dropping soon'.
Cardi felt the need to defend her success with a rant online, and probably the whole tense feeling that was on her social media led her to delete her account.
She took to Twitter Monday, inferring she didn't support BET's tweet and also swinging back at trolls attacking her historic Grammy win.
"However, I been taking a lot of s*** today, I'm seeing a lot of bull**** today and I saw a lot of s*** last night".
Cardi B pointed out that she put in long hours recording her album while pregnant with her first child.
As a outcome of the awards' actions, Minaj has pulled out of performing.
"Finally, we apologise to all her fans".
It's after a fan questioned why she didn't win a Grammy. I was bullied into staying quiet for seven years out of fear.
