"We will provide Markelle with the best possible support at his own pace and look forward to his future contributions".

Fultz's struggles with the Sixers have been well documented, as the former No. 1 overall pick has played in just 19 games this season.

Fultz has been sidelined since November 19 after being diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome, a condition that affects the nerves between the neck and shoulder.

Originally selected by Philadelphia with the first overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft, Fultz has appeared in 33 career games (15 starts), all with the Sixers, averaging 7.7 ppg., 3.4 rpg. and 3.4 20.6 minpg. The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor reported that the picks will be a first-rounder via the Thunder and a second-rounder via the Cavaliers.

There is no timetable for when Fultz will be able to play again. Since then, he's transformed into a pretty darn good National Basketball Association player, averaging 8.5 points in about 20 minutes of action a night over his four-year career. Despite being a 41.3-percent 3-point shooter in college, Fultz has connected on just 4-of-15 long-range attempts since entering the league.

Eleven-year veteran D.J. Augustin is the current starting point guard in Orlando. One of the Sixers' biggest needs is a backup point-guard who can defend and knock down open shots, and take some of the burden off of T.J. McConnell.

Philadelphia has made significant moves this season, acquiring Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris to add to its established core of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons as it seeks to get ahead in an increasingly competitive Eastern Conference.
