"The most significant snowfall is expected across the higher terrain of the Washington and Oregon Cascades, where 1 to 3 feet of snow is likely".

"Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become hard to navigate due to accumulating snow", the agency's latest weather warning says. Hundreds of flights were canceled in Seattle and Portland, and heavy snow drifts closed major highways in eastern Washington.

Clouds will be moving into our area Sunday evening eventually giving way to a winter snow/rain mix around midnight. Most of the area sees snow during their morning commute, but this transition will be taking place area-wide throughout your morning travel hours. It could warm up enough to bring only rain, with no freezing rain or sleet, according to the National Weather Service. A little glaze of ice is possible by late Monday afternoon into the evening north of DC Metro.

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Monday through 7 p.m. Sunday in Berks, Lehigh, Western Montgomery and Upper Bucks counties. The large storm will threaten daily routines by disrupting and delaying travel as the powerful weather arrives.

Total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm are expected before the snow tapers off Wednesday afternoon. High minus 11. Wind chill minus 27 in the morning and minus 21 in the afternoon.

Parts of the US Pacific Northwest are being inundated with unusually high levels of snow.

Our next storm system is a mainly-rain-maker arriving on Friday.
