Since initial backers hailed the introduction of the historic resolution as a huge accomplishment on Thursday, a growing number of labor, economic justice, racial justice, indigenous, environmental, and community organizations have lined up behind the bold proposal and vowed to pressure lawmakers to pass it.

Called the Green New Deal, co-sponsors of the resolution in the House of Representatives include California Congressman Ro Khanna, Colorado Congressman Joe Neguse, Washington Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, and Wisconsin Congressman Mark Pocan.
