There are bits and pieces of information about the AirPods 2 with the latest one coming from XDA TV host and writer Max Weinbach, who says that AirPods 2 will have wireless charging and it will take just 15 minutes to reach full charge from zero. The Cupertino-based company is holding an event on March 25 at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus but reports suggest it will only focus on subscription services and not new products. However, Apple normally does its launches on a Tuesday aside from the main keynote at its developer conference (WWDC). A new leak suggests Apple's AirPods 2 could arrive later this month. It is the same day as Huawei will launch the P30 and P30 Pro in Paris, but we expect the two events to miss each other because of time differences.

Apple released first-ever truly-wireless earphones dubbed as AirPods in 2016 and has since refused to upgrade the popular iPhone accessory.

He stated that the speed of fast wireless charging includes the AirPods case and the wireless earbuds. Apple has always been expected to debut the original AirPods model with added support for wireless charging. Kuo estimates Apple will ship 26 million to 28 million AirPod units this year, up from 14 million to 16 million in 2017.

Apple is also said to be working on third-generation AirPods. Apple is not expected to make radical design changes to the AirPods as it might make the device bulky and unattractive. It is also believed that with the AirPods 3, Apple could further increase the distance users can be away from their iPad or iPhone while using them.
