The moment we see in the trailer could be nothing more that Clint teaching his daughter how to shoot, but this young woman looks older than Lila would be, plus she's wearing an archery glove, which is a signature part of Kate's look. Calling upon black-and-white snippets from the 11-year history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to beef up its pathos, it presents our broken heroes trying to piece things back together in the wake of Thanos' successful eradication of half the life in the universe.
All of these reused scenes seem meant to remind fans of how much the Avengers have lost over the past ten years of the MCU. "None of us can go back", the voice of his now deceased World War I ally Peggy Carter echoes. To everyone that didn't make it, who disintegrated after the major last battle with Thanos, the last Avengers owe it to them to have one last showdown.
In the new trailer for Avengers: Endgame, the core group of survivors left behind from Infinity War have a new face joining the team - Captain Marvel. Plus, in one of the final shots, we see one character who wasn't on Earth at the end of Infinity War right alongside his fellow Avengers. In the next black and white scene, Captain America is carrying a flag-draped casket with only the red stripes of the flag in color.
The trailer features appearances from Ironman (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Ant Man (Paul Rudd) and Rocket Racoon.
The wait for Avengers: Endgame will end on April 26.
As if that wasn't enough, a stunning new poster has arrived too - pore over that here.
Oh, and did we mention new Avenger suits?
Thankfully, Marvel heard fans' cries and corrected the error.
Though it seems that with the latest MCU instalment, the Avengers are not alone as they now have Captain Marvel to give them a hand.
