Fake Melania? President Donald Trump responds to Alabama visit conspiracy theory

Taking to Twitter (are you surprised?), Donald said: "The Fake News photoshopped pictures of Melania, then propelled conspiracy theories that it's actually not her by my side in Alabama and other places".

President Donald Trump is dismissing a conspiracy theory that claimed First Lady Melania Trump used a body double on the first couple's visit to Alabama.

Following the president's tweet, Twitter users, and trolls with their tongues firmly in cheek, have posted side-by-side photographs of the pair, "analyzing" Melania's body language and appearance to "prove" the theory that she is, in fact, a doppelgänger.

"I've always found it sad that a group of women spend so much time attacking another woman, whose only goal is to help children, but yesterday's episode went beyond the petty mean-girl spirit that we've grown accustomed to", Grisham told the Daily Caller. "The tornadoes were disgusting, but she wanted to go, and I said, 'Good, let's go, '" Trump said, referring to Mrs. Trump. "If our first lady, if I were a Democrat instead of a Republican, she'd be Jackie O times twenty".

The first lady's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham called the show's joking on the subject "shameful".

As Snopes wrote in 2017, one of the more widely circulated images looks different because it was filmed while it aired on TV.
