Chriss had previously fouled Ibaka hard in the 2nd quarter of the game. Neither player commented on the situation after the match but according to ESPN, a spokesperson for the Raptors explained that Ibaka was upset at what Chriss said while he was laying on the court.
Chriss and Ibaka both threw punches at each other, luckily with neither landing solidly, and they were separated quickly and ushered to their respective benches.
Ibaka's Raptors team-mate Kawhi Leonard spokes about the incident after the game but claimed he didn't get a good view of the skirmish.
The words seemingly triggered Ibaka, as he stormed toward Chriss and grabbed him by the neck before the two exchanged haymakers.
Monday's game marked the eighth ejection of Ibaka's 10-year career and the third for Chriss in three seasons.
"I just wanted to see if he was okay, first of all", Nurse said. "We don't certainly want that in the game, right?" Everybody nearly wants to run out there and check what's going on.
Quotable - Coach Larry Drew, on his rookie point guard's performance on Monday ... "In the heat of the moment I understand that things do happen".
For the most part though, the Raptors didn't seem interested in being part of this game, just going through the motions on their way to the playoffs, and that came through very clearly with their defensive effort.
