So with all of that being considered who is going to win and move on in the NCAA Tournament?
When meeting with reporters in Salt Lake Wednesday shortly after the statement went out, Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim said Howard would not play Thursday. The Syracuse Orange (20-13, 10-8), are locked in as an eight seed and will play the Baylor Bears (19-13, 10-8) tomorrow at 10 pm in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The suspension for Howard comes just as Syracuse expected to get back to full strength. Syracuse is now favored against Baylor by 2.5 points in Vegas.
Howard missed the first four games of Syracuse's season because of a lower leg injury.
The Baylor Bears will try to end a four-game losing streak Thursday night against the Syracuse Orange in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Orange also struggle taking care of the ball and that issue really showed in the ACC tournament. Based on what Tyus Battle and Oshae Brissett said on Wednesday during media availability, the SU players had learned of the news recently. In its last two games, Syracuse turned the ball over 30 times in that span. Some positives for the Cuse: the Orange looked fantastic in the second half vs Pitt in ACC Tournament and competed strongly with No. 1 overall seed Duke despite not having Tyus Battle. Their offensive rebounding can only carry them so far.
