Easter Egg Hunt set for Saturday

EGG—TASTIC The pretty creations are available for a limited period of time

On Saturday in Surrey, the BC SPCA hosts a Bunny Hop and Egg Hunt starting at 12:30 at the branch just off 168th Street and 50th Avenue.

The free event features the breakfast served up Rotary style as well as pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon twisters, cookie decorating, a bouncy castle and more than 10,000 Easter eggs up for grabs donated by Save-On-Foods.

The first begins at 10:00 a.m. and the second begins at 6:30 p.m. It's a popular alternative to the classic Easter egg hunt. Kids can enjoy an Easter egg hunt in the heritage gardens. The event is BYOB - bring your own basket. And although this year's Easter Egg Hunt is full, organizers hope that families will follow along on Facebook and watch out for next year's event.

The Alan Brookes Nature Centre is opening for the season April 20 and kicking off with an Easter egg hunt, starts 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door.

Easter Eggstravaganza. New Life Baptist Church, on Yonge St.in Innisfil, is holding an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt on its nine-acre property, from 10 a.m.to noon.

The event is free thanks to the generosity of many local sponsors.
