A man whose beard has become nearly iconic has gone under the razor, shaving it all off while talking about an important cause.

However, if you fall into the latter camp, then you will now only know Jason Momoa as that guy.

Starting out with his long, trademark beard, the 39-year-old picked up some clippers and started going to town on his chin.

"Goodbye Drogo. Bye Arthury Curry", he says in the clip.

Momoa took to his YouTube channel to promote the concept of water being sold in recyclable cans as opposed to plastic.

'Most importantly, I just wanna do this to bring awareness. Let's clean up our oceans our land ⛰.

According to Momoa, about 75-percent of all the aluminum in circulation has been recycled. He made the bold move to raise awareness of plastic pollution and the importance of recycling. Perhaps it'll also renew in 60 days like these eco-friendly cans. "There's only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet as long as we recycle-and that's aluminum". "I- we've arrived at an interesting point in our relationship and would be extremely greatful [sic] if you could respect our privacy during this trying and emotional time".

One wrote: "OK I'm f***ing sick of you lot not giving a s*** about climate change". No matter what stance Momoa stans took, everyone had something to say. Many were more blown away by the actor's activism than by his new look.

Jason Momoa has shaved off his distinctive beard. That's because it's been such a major part of the aesthetics of some of his most notable roles, like Khal Drogo and Aquaman.
