Jon Favreau announced on Instagram that the plot of The Mandalorian would focus on a "lone gunfighter" who operates in the far reaches of the galaxy, outside of the New Republic's reach.
The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ and sees Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) leading a cast that includes Gina Carano (Deadpool), Carl Weathers (Rocky), Nick Nolte (Afflication), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Omid Abtahi (American Gods) and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man). "It should be epic, because, Star Wars, right?"
The next footage shown - a five minute clip followed by a montage teaser - showed the Mandalorian take a job from his guild leader Carga.
The Mandalorian will launch with Disney+ on November 12.
In addition to all of the Star Wars movies, Star Wars Rebels, the series will be added.
The 950 km/h ship was first seen in the opening scenes of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977. The Mandalorian looks to be the first show that takes that mandate to heart: Favreau has emphasized that the main character will operate in parts of the galaxy not yet explored by the films. When the mission is over, this fantastic kids' buildable toy also makes a great centerpiece for any LEGO Star Wars collection.
