Yep, you read that right, legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is tipping his former club's arch-rivals, Liverpool, to win this season's Premier League title race. Liverpool has Mohamed Salah playing great and the team does hold a little advantage and has a little bit easier of a remaining schedule, while City has been simply dominant and that game in hand against Manchester United could be the difference.
City will face Tottenham Hotspur and Man United in back to back Premier League games towards the end of this month while Liverpool theoretically have easy opponents to tackle. All of this is according to Jonathan Walters who made the claim after speaking with his old team-mate and former United defender Phil Bardsley who spent time with Ferguson during the week.
I was chatting with Phil Bardsley this week and - I'm going to drop a name here - he sat with Sir Alex Ferguson. and he thinks Liverpool are going to win it.
Last weekend we saw both Manchester City and Liverpool raising the stakes in their bids to win the 2019 Premier League.
And it goes without saying that the answer will not please Red Devils fans.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has suggested that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should rest some players for the big Premier League clash against Manchester City. It's the toughest remaining stretch of the season for Pep Guardiola's team. Both are still in the Champions League, which is another priority of theirs.
With just a handful of games left to play in the season, it's still anybody's guess out of who can win out of these two teams.
