Guthrie also grilled her on if Trump owes Bob Mueller an apology, "For the last two years the president has absolutely eviscerated Bob Mueller, a lifelong public servant, a former Marine, a registered Republican". The report also notes that Sanders told investigators her misleading claims were simply a "slip of the tongue". Sanders then told reporters that Trump, the Justice Department and lawmakers from both parties had lost confidence in Comey. While Attorney General William Barr found that the president's conduct didn't support charges, Mueller recounted 10 episodes of potential obstruction in his report, ultimately deciding neither to charge nor exonerate Trump. It's that simple ... the president knew that Director Comey was not up to the task. Bipartisan members of Congress made it clear that they had lost confidence in Director Comey. "Because I never agreed to testify, it was not necessary for me to respond to statements made in the 'Report" about me, some of which are total bullshit & only given to make the other person look good (or me to look bad)", the president tweeted. Unless Cohen "went rogue", he would be protected, according to the report. "Start lopping the heads off".
It can come as no surprise that Sarah Sanders tells lies, it must still be pointed out that calling something "a slip of the tongue" is not even admitting to a lie. "She out and out lied", she declared as emotion welled up in her voice.
"The game is unsafe because she is lying to the American public". They can't trust what's said from the president's mouthpiece. She should be fired, end of the story. When there is a lack of credibility there, you have to start and start lopping the heads off. "I'm sorry that I wasn't a robot like the Democratic Party".
By the standards of the Left on rhetoric and violence, isn't that "incitement"? "And I don't know that many people in the Federal Bureau of Investigation". That bit of hyperbole was a metaphor uttered to drive home a point, of course, but the Left has freaked out over any criticism of its leading lights as incitement over much less than "lopping off heads" metaphors.
Sanders said Thursday on Fox News she should not have used the word "countless". She jabbed Comey as she spoke.
Sanders clarified her remarks to Mueller's investigators, according to the report, which said, "Sanders told this Office that her reference to hearing from "countless members of the FBI" was a 'slip of the tongue'".
"If you look at the play-by-play account, I'm not denying he had involvement in what the statement said. You can understand your loyalty to the boss, you can try to spin things as favorably as you can to your boss, but on basic truths - what day of the week it is, did you get a phone call, did you get an e-mail - you can't make that stuff up".
