The real estate mogul said in another tweet: "Before Nancy, who has lost all control of Congress and is getting nothing done, decides to defend her leader, Rep. Omar, she should look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful U.S. HATE statements Omar has made".

"What we're saying is to have a message that appeals to people that does not menace them, that really does address their concerns", Pelosi said.

Pelosi addressed questions about how to handle the left wing of her party in the House during a talk with London School of Economics and Political Science, and she said Ocasio-Cortez needs to understand she can not set the agenda. Pelosi herself urged caution on Sanders' health-care proposal, instead touting President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, despite a number of Democratic presidential candidates co-sponsoring Sanders' Medicare for All bill.

The Speaker is specifically asked about the Democrat's progressive caucus that includes the outspoken 29-year-old Ocasio-Cortez. "Single payer, all of this".

But she made explicitly clear that new Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez - an emerging force in United States politics who is often simply referred to as AOC - and fellow young progressives elected in 2018 represented only the margins of American society.

Pelosi, who was elected for the second time as speaker in January, said she will compare her liberal qualifications with anyone. "Been there, done that".

The US House of Representatives Speaker announced that during her meeting with the House of Commons Speaker, she learned to say his well-known trademark. "Been there, done that, pushing a stroller many decades ago with all of that, so I share those values".

The video in Trump's tweet included a snippet from a recent speech Omar gave to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, in which she described the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center as "some people did something", along with news footage of the hijacked airplanes hitting the Twin Towers. "That we have to be m- go down the mainstream".

Pelosi also stressed her devotion to capitalism in the interview.

"When we win, and we have the White House, and we have that, then we can expand our exuberances to some other things", she continued.
