"In a message seen by the paper, she explains: "[But] you saw I didn't start entertaining and texting him (Kevin) until I split up with you.
'I haven't got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I've read on here.
It read, "I love you" followed by a love heart. "We were approached and told that if we paid the right people we would be guaranteed the title but it would cost more than £10,000 in all and I just felt somewhere it had all gone wrong".
"I have had one of the craziest years of my life, you've just been so nice to work with, I've enjoyed it so much".
She wrote: "Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward".
Karen, who has remained close to and continued to dance with Kevin since their split a year ago, has so far remained quiet on the news of Kevin's controversial new romance, but Stacey defended herself on Monday in a defiant tweet after her ex Sam Tucknott accused her of dumping him for Kevin.
Kevin has yet to address Sam's claims.
Kevin has yet to comment on the situation but with this being the 15th couple to fall foul of the show's curse, it looks like Strictly is getting a bigger reputation as a sort of celebrity Tinder rather than a dance competition.
'I am so respectful of [Stacey], but I am gutted and I am disappointed and I feel so let down that she did not have the respect for me to tell me and just come clean'.
Afterwards, Stacey is said to have called Sam to admit she'd fallen for Kevin - but only after her relationship with Sam had already ended.
Stacey previously played down any romantic relationship with Kevin, telling The Times magazine in February: "The truth is Kevin and I are brilliant friends and he'll be my pal for life".
