The Brazilian has admitted it is daunting to play for one of the greatest footballers of all-time but hopes to soon catch his eye.
A Madrid player whose future remains uncertain is Welsh galactico Gareth Bale, who made little impression during a late run as a substitute.
He played the full 90 minutes against Celta Vigo and Huesca, but he was replaced against Eibar and came on late at Valencia and Leganes. It's very important for us to work with him for more years'.
"I don't think they're going anywhere", he said. "We make the changes to win the game, and we did not do that today".
"It looks like we do not have much confidence", Zidane said.
Most of Zidane's press conferences have so far been dominated by questions about his players' futures and on this evidence, few will be feeling secure.
"I congratulate him because he has practically scored goals all season and I think that if you have to value someone more positively, he has been the best of the team this year".
