"Breakpoint" is officially the next title in the "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon" tactical shooter franchise, and it's coming out on October 4, publisher Ubisoft revealed in a livestream on Thursday. Breakpoint isn't too far away either, as the game is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 4.
Breakpoint takes us to an island in the Pacific Ocean and the island of Auroa, with technological warfare and the fictional company Skell Technology the focal point. When you get there, however, you'll find yourself not in the role of the hunter, but the hunted. The game will be playable solo or in up to four-player co-op. Walker, who was introduced in Ghost Recon Wildlands' recent Operation Oracle update is a ferocious leader of weaponised drone army.
The titular breakpoint is about a shift from recon to survival for the Ghosts as drones strike and down your chopper en route. "Home to drone creators, tech giant Skell Technology, Auroa has fallen into the wrong hands and all contact has been lost". "The appearance and load-outs are carried across both the campaign, and the player-versus-player modes - the latter will be available to all players at launch". The Wolves Collector's Edition is the big one; it will include the base game, the Year 1 pass, the Ultimate Pack, a high-end figurine of Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, a Steelbook, exclusive lithographs, Walker's dog tag, a waterproof map of Auroa and the soundtrack. New story arcs, classes and features will be continuously added, and for the first time in a Ghost Recon game, a new type of endgame content: raids. It also said players can keep the same character, and the same progression, throughout the entire game.
Ubisoft recently confirmed it will release four new AAA games in the fiscal year ending March 2020.
