In terms of camera, the Honor 20 Pro will have four - a 48MP f/1.4 main camera, 16MP super wide snapper, 8MP telephoto and 2MP "Macro" camera - the latter of these is quite new to us, although it seems to be for close-up pictures.
But unlike the Pro version, the main camera on the Honor 20 only comes with an f/1.8 aperture. According to the score, "Honor 20 Pro's key strengths of exposure, noise, and zoom see it achieve slightly higher scores in those categories".
Alongside it is a 16-megapixel super wide angle camera, with f/2.2 aperture and a 117-degree field of view. The camera features include AI beauty, large aperture, night scene, portrait, video, professional camera, and panorama. If there's a concern, it's how the ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China - and the news this week that, unless things change, Huawei and Honor will be shut out of using Google apps like the Play store, Gmail, YouTube and others - might affect updates for devices like the Honor 20 Pro in the months and years ahead.
Just like the Honor 20, the Honor 20 Pro also sports a 6.26-inch full-HD+ LCD IPS display with a punch hole camera design.
Honor 20 has been launched at a press event in London. It's possible that the controversy surrounding Huawei in the USA delayed the announcement of specific launch information. They will also continue to receive security updates from Google. On the front, it has 32MP AI self-timer selfie camera.
There's a fingerprint sensor on the side of each phone, but, annoyingly, no headphone jack - even though this should be kinda expected these days. Low-light shots in particular: the Sony sensor that Honor diverted a not-inconsiderable chunk of its spending on is around 25-percent larger than that of the iPhone XS Max or Galaxy S10 Plus.
Huawei's Honor brand is launching a pair of smartphones with cutting-edge specs for less than $1,000, but good luck on finding them in the US.
Honor 20 is priced at 499 Euro and Honor 20 Pro 8GB RAM model is priced at 599 Euros. What you don't get, though, is wireless charging. Both support 22.5W SuperCharge fast charging which allows you to get up to 50% battery in half an hour. The company has already sent out the invites for the event and we are expecting both Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro to make it to India with similar specifications, configurations and color options. The mid-budget 20 Lite was earlier launched for the Malaysian market, and the select part of UK. You do, at least, get Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 802.11ac.
Both the smartphones from Honor comes loaded with a gradient finish that the company claims are designed with the new Mesh technology and are loaded with four cameras at the back panel along with a punch-hole design at the front.
Those cameras do differ, however, from what's on the Honor 20 Pro. The fourth camera is said to be different on the two handset. The smartphone also supports GPU Turbo 3.0 with frame by frame optimisations. Huawei sub-brand Honor also announced the global debut of the Honor 20 Lite, which was launched in Malaysia and the United Kingdom earlier this month.
The Honor 20 has the side-mounted fingerprint sensor found in the power button as opposed to the in-display fingerprint sensor positioned under the display on the OnePlus 7.
