Mega Millions Jackpot Surpasses Half A Billion Dollars For Friday Drawing

The Mega Millions lottery's latest jackpot has passed a half billion dollars, and now it's headed directly for someone's bank account in California.

Winning numbers for June 7 were white balls 17, 19, 27, 40 and 68, plus gold Mega Ball 2. It's now up to $530 million, the seventh largest jackpot in the game's history and it's only expected to rise.

The $530 million top prize is the 7th biggest in the 17-year history of Mega Millions and the 15th largest in USA lottery history.

If the lucky victor picks the cash option, they will walk away with about $345 million before taxes. Of course, he won $1M.

The jackpot had been rolling since it was last won in Missouri on March 12.

This is the seventh largest jackpot in Mega Millions history, and the game's largest since October when a ticket sold in SC won a record-setting $1.537 billion.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302.5 million. Each matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.

The jackpot for Tuesday's drawing will be $40 million.

That ticket is worth a little more than $1 million. The winning ticket sold in SC and was the world's largest lottery prize ever won on a single ticket.
