The Upside Down Whopper is literally what it sounds like: a Whopper served upside down. Now it looks as though fast food chain, Burger King, has joined the hype since announcing an Upside Down Whopper ahead of the new season's arrival.
It's got all the fixings of an OG Whopper with a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, tomatoes, fresh lettuce, mayo, ketchup, crunchy pickles, and onions sandwiched between two sesame seed buns. "The Upside Down Whopper sandwich features exclusive packaging and the same ingredients as the original Whopper, served upside down". The company will also be giving away a Stranger Things VIP experience with an instant-win game tied to the promotion.
The special burger will be sold starting June 21 at certain restaurants in several U.S. cities: Miami, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. Limited-edition tees, crowns, ketchup packets, and pins will be on-hand, as well.
The anticipation for season three of Stranger Things is real.
Promotions like the upside-down Whopper get people to flock to restaurants to ensure they get a peek at the odd new offering before the deal ends. Oh, and don't forget "The Hopper Meal", named for David Harbour's burly police chief. Customers need to enter the code "STRANGER" to access the deal on the DoorDash app or website, where they will be able to watch previews of new season of 'Stranger Things'.
Of course, if we get a scene in the new, 1985-set season where Dustin is openly wondering about the whereabouts of Herb, then we know these tie-ins have gone a wee bit too far.
