Celtics Reportedly Emerge As "Stealth Suitor" For Kemba Walker

Kemba Walker is a Perfect Fit With the Dallas Mavericks

The Hornets' Kemba Walker isn't the biggest name in 2019 National Basketball Association free agency. The latest team - the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics "are at the front of the line" for Walker, along with the Mavericks, per the New York Times' Marc Stein.

We are just five days away from NBA Free Agency. He's proved to be one of the most reliable point guards in the league since then and now he gets to test the market and try to get a big contract.

Walker is a game changer for any franchise.

Brooklyn seems to be the clubhouse leader for Irving, who went to high school in Elizabeth, New Jersey, but he's had chemistry issues on both the Celtics and Cavaliers. In eight seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, Walker has put together averages of 19.8 points, 5.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting 35.7 percent from 3.

One thing is for certain, Kemba Walker is a better leader than Kyrie Irving, and I think that is one reason why the Celtics have interest in the 3x All-Star. And, with the Nets preparing to make a run after Irving this summer, it's one that could raise eyebrows.

Kemba Walker's Free Agency destinations are far from set in stone, but a few teams have already emerged as the top landing spot.
