The Oscar-winning actress appeared as a guest on director Jon Favreau's Netflix cooking show, The Chef Show, and was happily surprised when Favreau mentioned their time together on 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Favreau, who worked on numerous same movies as an actor and producer, brought up Spider-Man when he was explaining The Chef Show, in which he appears alongside celebrity chef Roy Choi.
"We weren't in Spider-Man", Paltrow said.
After thinking it over, Paltrow doubled down on her belief that she wasn't in the movie at all.
"We weren't in Spider-Man", she said. "You were in Spider-Man".
"Honestly, it's pretty understandable given the plethora of Marvel movies that have been churned out in the last decade". Case in point, Gwyneth Paltrow was recently gobsmacked to learn that she appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Watch the hilarious realization below.
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever. Remember Spider-Man, at the end, and Tom Holland's there, and you're gonna walk out and do a press conference, and I give you the ring.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in theaters on July 2, 2019. "Oh my God!" Paltrow says, giddily laughing once she realizes she appeared in another major Marvel movie and didn't even know. "I feel very lucky that I did it because I actually got talked into it".
Still in denial, Paltrow looks at Favreau with a blank stare, saying, "No". When he brought that specific experience up with the actress on the show, she was beyond confused. I started just filming. "Would they make Shakespeare in Love?".
