Numerous rumors about a mystical-heavy action title were substantiated, and a title at long last received a proper reveal, alongside an announcement trailer.
Miyazaki provided the following statement to Destructoid on the team-up: "Collaborating with George R.R. Martin to create the Elden Ring mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration".
Sam Wilkinson from Bandai Namco sat down with Miyazaki to get some exclusive insights on Elden Ring. "We feel there is a wide variety of unique and horrifying bosses for players to look forward to".
"Building the world of ELDEN RING with Miyazaki-san and his team was a treat!"
Elden Ring has no confirmed release date, but when it does, it will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
Reportedly, Elden Ring is the largest From Software game to date.
Simply put, it sounds like an open-world Dark Souls.
You know the name George R.R. Martin from the HBO TV show Game of Thrones, and as the writer of books the show adapted.
Developer FromSoftware says that this is the biggest game they have worked upon and rumour has it that Elden Ring was being worked upon for the last three years. "Among those areas, you will also find intricately designed, multi-layered castles and such". The project is called Elden Ring, and it's hypnotically weird and grim Tolkien-esque visuals are something only Hidetaka Miyazaki could think up. There will be magic and a focus on the RPG elements, in contrast to Sekiro's action-oriented gameplay (though, obviously, there will be melee combat). The Elden Ring. Shattered, by someone or something. Bandai Namco will be publishing the game.
"Miyazaki is a "huge fan" of Martin's works; he personally recommends Martin's Fevre Dream" to new From Software employees.
