Man United expecting Paul Pogba to stay at Old Trafford

Pogba's time at United appears to be nearing its conclusion

United's failure to move quickly out of the blocks in the transfer market this summer has served only to reinforce Solskjaer's fear, with fans concerned the 20-times champions are in danger of losing further ground on the teams above them.

Manchester United's determination to keep Paul Pogba means they would willing to offer the unsettled midfielder £500,000 per week to stay at the club, the Daily Mail reports.

Pogba's former club Juventus are also keeping tabs on the situation, but it's believed that he would rather play under Zinedine Zidane in Madrid.

Newcastle are set to be rocked by an official approach from Manchester United this week, as the Red Devils step up their efforts to snatch Sean Longstaff, according to Football Insider.

Thus far, United have been unwilling to negotiate Pogba's exit, though his statements on Sunday may change their position. The comments he made in Japan over his future have made Real Madrid try and speed up the signing.

Contrast that with Real Madrid, whose response to finishing third in La Liga last season was to spend close to £300m on new signings in the past few weeks, including Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.

Pogba is thus, a viable target for Real Madrid, who have reportedly contacted Manchester United over a possible summer move.

But Parlour says the Frenchman's comments were disrespectful to United.

"But we had lots of players who went through that at Arsenal, but no player came out publicly and said, "I want to leave the club".

The France worldwide has had a hard time upon returning to the Premier League, although he has enjoyed some bright sparks throughout the last three seasons. However, whether they will risk losing Real's interest in Pogba by demanding more money remains to be seen.
