Marvel Avengers has been revealed during Square Enix's E3 presentation. This comes into play with Marvel's Avengers 4-player co-op mechanic, as it was confirmed that only one hero could be played within any one team.
Rather than rendering the characters to look like their big screen counterparts, developers Crystal Dynamics - who recently rebooted the Tomb Raider games - have designed them to look totally different, nearly distractingly so, and fans have shared their confusion online.
Marvel's Avengers will release on 15 May, 2020 on Google Stadia, PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Only five years later do they reunite and try to reassemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes. It's a cinematic, character-driven campaign spanning multiple years. But when Square Enix took the stage, they definitely saved the best for last.
Assembling online as a team of four players, you'll be able to customise your roster of heroes and abilities, with newly-added Avengers and new content added at no extra cost, with no loot boxes or "pay-to-win scenarios".
With appearances from Iron Man, Captain America, Bruce Banner, Black Widow, Thor, and a hint at Ant-Man, as well as stacked voice-acting talent from Nolan North and Troy Baker, Marvel's Avengers looks like an interesting ride, to say the least. They will, however have early beta access for PS4 and platform specific benefits.
We also got to see Hank Pym and a shrink ray in action, but...no actual gameplay. Before the numerous guests departed and the stage darkened, Square gave the world its very first glimpse at none other than Marvel's Avengers.
