Royal Caribbean has canceled a cruise ship's stop in San Juan, Puerto Rico, due to widespread protests against Governor Ricardo Rosselló.

Empress of the Seas, which was slated to stop in San Juan Tuesday, has been rerouted to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, Torres said, and guests will receive refunds for prepaid shore excursions. "Poor planning on alternative routes & crap service is making me regret all of this", the woman, Emily Berry, told Royal Caribbean.

Instead, the Oasis-class vessel will sail towards her next scheduled call at St. Maarten with an arrival tomorrow morning, July 18.

According to Fox News, the cruise operator canceled stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on at least two of its cruises.

Harmony of the Seas is now on a seven-day eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral and is carrying 6,594 passengers.

Civilians and politicians are calling for Rosselló's resignation, but he has insisted that he isn't going anywhere.

All were there with a unified message: Governor Ricardo Rosselló must go.

Protests against Rossello were sparked by leaked controversial and vulgar text messages between the governor and his closest allies and by a federal probe into government corruption on the island. They also accuse Rossello's government of mishandling the the recovery after Hurricane Maria, which left thousands of people dead in 2017.

Puerto Rico's Public Security Secretary Elmer L. Román says officials have reported the burglary to federal authorities and officials are trying to locate those responsible.
