Cardi B Stans For Ilhan Omar After Trump Incites “Send Her Back” Chant At Rally

Somali-born U.S. congresswoman Ilhan Omar is "lucky to be where she is", President Donald Trump said on Friday, pressing on with attacks on four minority women Democratic U.S. representatives he has said should "go back" to where they came from.

In his latest attempt to defend himself, however, Trump once again elevated the voice of Katie Hopkins, a far-right British commentator who has likened immigrants to rodents and cockroaches, encouraged law enforcement to racially profile the public and once tweeted a racist slur at a black man.

To the delight of his thousands of supporters in Greenville, Trump described Omar and the other three as "left-wing ideologues (who) see our nation as a force of evil". "That hypocrisy is something I'm bothered by", said Omar on another occasion.

While Merkel had shared a visibly warm relationship with former United States president Barack Obama, her contact with Trump has been formal and firm.

Trump in a tweet this week said the four congresswomen should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came".

Biden, who served eight years as Barack Obama's vice president and 36 years as a USA senator, epitomizes a Democratic establishment the four congresswomen who dub themselves "the squad" have vowed to upend. "And I think this really horrendous narrative that says, as a Muslim, I'm supposed to explain, apologise, for the actions of someone who's also terrorising me, is absurd". They are incredible patriots.

The controversial statements and tweets by the president triggered widespread uproar and the House of Representatives had passed a resolution on Tuesday to condemn his remarks.

She is a member of the Democrats - the rival party to Mr Trump's Republican party.

In a week that has corkscrewed daily with hostile exchanges over race and love of country, Trump also claimed he had tried to stop the chant at a re-election event Wednesday night in North Carolina though video shows otherwise.

In his tweets Friday, Trump predicted that he would win Minnesota next year, saying voters there "can't stand" Omar and "her hatred of our Country".

GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger of IL tweeted that it was "ugly, wrong, & would send chills down the spines of our Founding Fathers".

Trump paused for a full 13 seconds to let the crowd chant before continuing with his speech at the rally. The Squad, consisting of Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), has been a recent target of the president for their socialist policies prescriptions and anti-America and anti-Israel rhetoric. Democrats had hoped the spotlight on Thursday would be on House passage of legislation to boost the minimum wage for the first time in a decade.

In 2016, Democrat Hillary Clinton carried Minnesota by less than two percentage points. "In your most holy name, I now cast out the spirit of darkness from this chamber". "And the things that she has said are a disgrace to our country".

"You know what? If they don't love it, tell them to leave it".

Omar responded to Trump's attack on Twitter with a poem by Maya Angelou: "You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I'll rise".
