Hudson-Odoi returns to Chelsea training

Cape Town - Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the verge of agreeing on a new five-year contract, with his wages reportedly set to rise to £180 000 a week.

The Blues forward has been out of action since April after he picked up an injury to his Achilles tendon against Burnley.

On Wednesday afternoon, Chelsea shared images of the winger on social media, challenging his team-mates and passing the ball during a training session.

"Great to be back in training, it's another step in my recovery", Hudson-Odoi said in a video Chelsea posted on Twitter.

An incredible picture has emerged online of former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o celebrating his hat-trick against Manchester United with a 13-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi in 2014.

"I know the club want him to stay and he is going to be central for us on the pitch". The youngster is still recuperating from the same injury and hasn't been involved for the Blues under new manager Frank Lampard in the 2019-20 term.

The defender's header was blocked but Eto'o was on hand to tap in the rebound and score his third goal of the match, which prompted him to run over and celebrate with a young Hudson-Odoi.

The German giants have been chasing the hotshot winger since January - and have until the end of the month to continue their summer transfer activity.

After having a surgery in Barcelona in April, Callum Hudson Odoi has resumed training and he could return to action for Chelsea after the worldwide break in September.
