Warning: the video embedded below contains profane language. "We completely support him", CNN spokesperson Matt Dornic tweeted.
Get your jokes in now before everyone else has already made them. Cuomo viewed that as an epithet directed at his italian heritage. Cuomo was particularly put off by the name and the underlying meaning of being called that. "Often in front of my family", he wrote. You called me Fredo. The man appears to try to rile Cuomo up, who responds by saying "I'll fuckin' ruin your shit" and "I'll fucking throw you down these stairs". Cuomo's show was seen by an average of 954,000 people in July, according to data from Nielsen, which makes any claim that the man didn't know who Cuomo was hard to believe. Think again! Being called "Fredo" is annoying and rude, but it does not even come close to being called the N-word so Cuomo, you're righteous in your anger, but so very wrong about what being called Fredo actually means.
"If anything, this is my fault, and I'll be glad to take the blame", he said.
Donald Trump Jr. pointed out an instance in which a guest on Cuomo's program used the name and Cuomo let it slide.
President Trump, who has criticized Cuomo in the past, also weighed in on the footage. "So you better be careful that your brother Andrew doesn't kiss you on both cheeks and then all of a sudden they take you out on the middle of the lake and where's Chris?" "I should be better than what I oppose".
Cuomo told the guy. the name "Fredo" is as offensive to Italians as the n-word is to African Americans. It was then sent to conservative media personality Brandon Straka, who posted it to YouTube - with the title **EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE!** CNN ANCHOR CHRIS CUOMO THREATENING TRUMP SUPPORTER! - and shared on Twitter.
The guy with the camera at the ready, clearly considering himself a provocateur amateur journalist, approaches Cuomo and calls him "Fredo".
In a way, the man was calling Chris Cuomo a stupid Italian-still not racist, but definitely rude.
Others who defended Cuomo include Fox News host Sean Hannity, who said the CNN rival is the one who "deserves the apology". He also added that Cuomo "totally lost it" and worked in a "low ratings CNN" jab. "His language was terrible, he looked like a total out-of-control animal".
See a few reactions to Cuomo's incident below. He shouldn't be allowed to have any weapon.
