Hollywood star Gemma Chan in talks to join Marvel's 'The Eternals'

Gemma Chan Might Join THE ETERNALS

Gemma Chan, Barry Keoghan in talks to join Marvel's The Eternals

If the film is set during the MCU's present day, Minn-Erva couldn't be there, and she'd an odd choice to have play a supporting role in Eternals. That would be a big change, as it would be among the first times that an actor will play two different MCU characters. Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Ma Dong-Seok ... the cast is absolutely incredible.

It was also just announced that Crazy Rich Asians' Gemma Chan is in talks to join the film as well.

Chan and Keoghan will join an already star-studded lineup. If Chan is indeed cast in The Eternals, it will be the first time a star plays two different characters in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). However, this may not be the role you think. While numerous MCU's current stars have had previous roles in Marvel films, like Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan (who both played the Human Torch in Fox's two attempts at the Fantastic Four) or Ray Stevenson (who played the Punisher in War Zone), no one has played two different roles under the Marvel Studios umbrella. Filming on The Eternals is expected to begin later this year after Black Widow wraps production.

Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the story of The Eternals is set millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans to create super-powered individuals known as the Eternals along with the villainous Deviants.

Often defending Earth from their monstrous counterparts, the Eternals became embroiled in a civil war amongst themselves over whether or not they should conquer the other races.

Disney will release the movie on November 6, 2020!
